About the Temple

 

It is believed that Kannambalath Shree Bhadrakali Kshethram was in existence from around 14th Century though there are no historical documents to establish it. A member of Kannambalam family named "Shankarammavan" worshipped Bhadrakali as his "Upasanamoorthi". Shankarammavan had superhuman abilities which he obtained as blessing from the Bhagavathi.

 

The main diety in the temple is Bhadrakali. Shankarammavan shrine is located beside the Bhadrakali shrine. Upadevathas like Anthimahakalan, Shasthavu, Brahmarakshassu etc are also located inside the Nalambalam.
